creamy sausage and tortellini soup

This creamy sausage and tortellini soup is the perfect comfort food for busy nights. It’s rich, hearty, and packed with flavor—thanks to the combination of marinara and alfredo sauce. Using store-bought sauces keeps things simple while still delivering a delicious homemade taste. Great use for leftover spaghetti sauce too!

The addition of cheesy tortellini and Italian sausage makes this soup a satisfying meal the whole family will love. Serve it with crusty bread or a side salad for a complete dinner in under 30 minutes!

Tips & Tricks for the Best Creamy Tortellini Soup

  • Use Spicy Sausage for Extra Flavor – If you like a little heat, opt for hot Italian sausage instead of mild.
  • Balance the Creaminess – Alfredo sauce already makes this soup rich, but adding a little heavy cream takes it to the next level. For a lighter version, use half-and-half.
  • Don’t Overcook the Tortellini – Add the tortellini at the end and cook just until tender to prevent them from getting too soft.
  • Make It Veggie-Packed – Stir in spinach, kale, or even diced zucchini for added nutrients.
  • Store & Reheat with Care – This soup thickens as it sits, so when reheating, add a splash of broth or cream to bring back its original consistency.
