  • 1 cup water
  • Lemon wedges for serving
  • Optional: hot sauce melted butter, or garlic butter for dipping

Instructions

  • Prepare the Instant Pot: Pour 1 cup of water into the Instant Pot and place a trivet or steamer basket inside.
  • Place the Oysters: Arrange the oysters on the trivet in a single layer if possible. If you have more, you can carefully stack them.
  • Pressure Cook: Close the lid and set the Instant Pot to Manual or Pressure Cook on High for 2-3 minutes. This should steam the oysters until they open slightly.
  • Release Pressure: Once the time is up, carefully do a quick pressure release. Open the lid and check the oysters; they should have opened up. If they haven’t, cook them for another minute.
  • Serve: Use an oyster shucker to fully open the shells if needed, then serve with lemon wedges, hot sauce, or melted butter.
