shrimp pita

I love combining bold Mediterranean flavors with quick and easy meals, and these shrimp pitas are no exception. Coated in a flavorful homemade gyro seasoning, the shrimp bring a delicious, smoky-spiced punch to every bite.

Tucked into warm pitas and paired with fresh veggies and creamy tzatziki, this dish is a fast, satisfying dinner that feels both indulgent and healthy. Perfect for busy weeknights or a light, crowd-pleasing lunch!

Tips for Shrimp Pitas

  • Fresh or Frozen Shrimp: Use fresh shrimp if possible, or thaw frozen shrimp fully and pat dry before seasoning for the best flavor.
  • Customize Your Toppings: Add extras like feta cheese, kalamata olives, or avocado to make it your own.
  • Make-Ahead Tip: Mix the gyro seasoning in advance and store it in an airtight container for easy weeknight prep.
  • Use Good Pitas: Opt for soft, fresh pita bread or even naan for a more indulgent option.
  • Alternative Protein: Swap shrimp for chicken or chickpeas for a versatile take on the recipe.
