FAQ About Easy Sweet Rolls

Can I use instant yeast instead of active dry yeast?

Yes! Substitute the active dry yeast with the same amount of instant yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons), and skip the step of dissolving it in liquid first. Add it directly to the dry ingredients.

Why is pineapple juice used in the rolls?

Pineapple juice adds a subtle sweetness and hint of tropical flavor, giving ssweet rolls their signature taste. It also helps to make the rolls soft and fluffy.

How can I make my rolls extra fluffy?

Kneading the dough until it’s smooth and elastic is key to fluffy rolls. Also, make sure to let the dough rise fully in both the initial and final rise to allow the yeast to work properly.

How do I know when my rolls are done baking?

The internal temperature of the rolls should reach 190°F. If you don’t have a thermometer, look for a golden-brown top and check if the rolls sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.

Can I make the dough ahead of time?

Yes, you can prepare the dough, let it rise once, then shape it into rolls and cover tightly. Store in the refrigerator overnight and let them come to room temperature and rise slightly before baking.

How should I store leftover sweet rolls?

Store at room temperature for 1-2 days in an airtight container or freeze for up to 3 months. If refrigerated, warm briefly before serving to restore softness.
