I'm a simple home cook who loves the challenge of a new recipe!! I have as many kitchen tragedies as I do triumphs. The saying in my house is "Well, there's always cereal if this doesn't work". I think recipes are meant to be a jumping off point - they are meant to be tweaked, revised, personalized and even trashed if you don't like them - so have fun! I have to admit, one of my biggest joys in life is watching someone enjoy what I've made them.
I will throw in a disclaimer; I'm assuming every cook gathers their recipes the way I do. I get the from old church cookbooks, the web, magazines, friends, relatives, soup cans, the back of boxes - you name it! If any of my recipes seem very familiar to you, then they very well could be. I usually try to put my own spin on the recipes I use, but sometimes they're perfect the way they are. There's no way I could list a lifetime of sources so I'm going to give a shout out to some of my favorites: Ina Garten, Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsay (don't look at me like that - the man has some serious Michelin stars) and Nat's What I Reckon (Seriously. Look him up on YouTube; it will be worth your while.) Who knows; you might be one of my favorites too!
I have a nearly perfect son, a wonderful mom, brothers, sisters, friends and a slew of co-workers who benefit, or not, from my experimentations. They give me great feedback and I thank every one of them.
I wish I had some witty one-liner to sign off with but I don't. So take care, be safe and tell the people who mean anything at all to you that you love them.
Don't forget the apron,
Candy
